Heading out for a vacation in general costs a lot of money, going on a golf vacation may cost even more than the regular vacations. People save their hard-earned money for a vacation then spend it all in leaving them broke afterwards. Going on vacation, however, is still essential for health and relaxation.

Golf vacation is one of the most entertaining and relaxing recreation especially during summer. It became popular during the past few years now that the baby boomers are already retiring from their jobs.  Golf resorts started to be built providing golf vacations.

1.        Save money by availing discount golf tours

Golf vacations are now not only limited to businessmen and rich people who can afford to pay for expensive golf club memberships. Discount golf vacation tours are now being offered to anybody who would be interested to avail of the packages. These golf tours are offered at different golf courses all over the world such as Australia, Spain, Mexico, UK, Portugal and even as far as China.  These discount golf tours have different price ranges that are far lower than what golf enthusiasts should be paying for regular golf tours.

2.      Search the web for the best vacation packages

Since golf vacations are so popular and many golf resorts have opened, many of these establishments offer cheap packages. There should at least be a couple who can offer a price that would fit in the budget.

3.      Choose a nearer destination or book a flight earlier

If there are nearer golf resorts which can be reached by road trip, travel expense will be cheaper. Trains turn out to be much cheaper than plane travels. Otherwise, if there is still a need to travel by plane, it is wise to book flights earlier since flights booked earlier are cheaper. Look for promo tickets too and book round trip tickets. Round trip tickets are much cheaper and since these will be paid months earlier, those will not have to take up the budget later which can be used for other expenses.

4.      Make a checklist

Make a checklist on things that need to be brought about a few weeks before the vacation. Having a list does away with forgetting important things to be brought so it will prevent having to buy things while on vacation. Buy supplies which can be bought at a cheaper price at home since some resorts sell expensive stuff.

Other saving strategies may also be done while on vacation such as choosing a cheaper place to dine in and lessening expenses by not shopping too much. There are actually many ways to save without the need to curtail the fun that you have with this kind of vacation. So make your golf vacation schedule as early as now.

Going on a golf vacation is so exciting that people tend to forget the important personal effects to bring. These are overlooked in the heat of the moment. Forgetting something important can spoil the vacation or would cause for extra spending when it needs to be bought. Moreover, organizing things would help minimize lugging in bulky bags.

Create a checklist

Having a checklist will minimize forgetting things that need to be brought.  Only important things should be written in the checklist and it should be followed strictly to minimize bringing in stuff which are not important. Bringing in a lot of stuff will just add to the baggage.

The checklist should include the following:

  • Keys – since these are too small and are placed everywhere, there are times when people think it’s already in the bag but they’re not.
  • Wallet –funny but true  that most people leave their wallets  and end up going back for it which is a waste of time or might cause not being able to catch the plane.
  • Passport and tickets – these should be placed in a zip lock right in the pocket of the travelling bag as soon as possible.
  • Pain Relief – these can be bought anywhere but still there are instances that there aren’t any available. It’s still good to be sure.
  • Prescribed Medications – more important than pain relief since if the vacation is out of the country, replacements may be difficult to find or that prescriptions are needed when buying them. It would also be wise to bring more than what will be taken during the vacation.
  • Snacks–snacks on the plane are expensive if they don’t come free. It would also be good to have snacks ready when road tripping g so there’s no need to stop over every now and then to buy. It saves money and time.
  • Drink Dispenser–very important while travelling and while playing golf.
  • Electronics – cellphone, laptop, camera  including chargers and extra batteries are essential ones to bring.
  • Golf paraphernalia — Golf glove , Golf balls , Golf clubs , Golf shoes should never be forgotten. Otherwise, renting or buying these will incur more expenses.

Organize things

Having a suitcase with compartments will help organizing stuffs to be brought easily. Moreover, with the help of the checklist, some stuff which can already be put inside the bag a couple of weeks before the scheduled vacation should already be placed in the suitcase.

The suitcase should be large enough to  hold everything needed and one golf bag for the golf paraphernalia. People who carry many small bags tend to forget to bring or tend to loose one of the bags.

Smaller storage bags may be used to organize stuff if compartments are not enough. Have one bad for medications, one bag for chargers and etc.

To save space, clothes may be rolled. The type of clothes to be brought should go in with the weather so as not to bring unnecessary clothes which cannot be worn after all.

The secret to packing for a vacation is not to rush when packing. Packing beforehand will save the stress of leaving important things and bringing unnecessary stuff.
